Woolston Signing Choir (originally Woolston Schools Signing Choir) was setup in 2009 by Mrs Helen Andrews, who was then a 1:1  BSL Teaching Assistant at Woolston Community Primary School and is now a Communication Support Worker (CSW) at a High School in Warrington. Same job but working through the school years.

The children often copied Mrs Andrews in class and assemblies. This lead to lunch time and after school signing clubs. The children embraced this beautiful vibrant language and that was why she came up with the ideas of forming Woolston Schools Signing Choir.

The choir opened in November 2009 with members from two primary schools in the village along with parents, staff and members of the community. This has now grown to pupils from three primary schools, three high schools, a specialist school, parents, grandparents, staff and members of the community. This is why we altered the name slightly in 2013 to be inclusive to all the children.

We have met many new friends through our performances over the last five years. (now almost 6 years!)

To date (October 2015) we have given an amazing 90 performances!  Can we achieve 100 before the end of the year?  Let's hope so!

(December 2015 )We did it! We reached our milestone!
